ABOUT MERLIJNE
Merlijne is a Dutch singer, actress and dancer. At the age of 9 she started singing in a classical choir, touring Europe in various tours. When she also started dancing, she discovered the magic of musical theatre - that’s where her love for the combination of singing, dancing and acting started.
She trained for her bachelor at Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts, followed by a Master at the Fontys Conservatory.
Theatre and stage credits include: Gloria in ‘Muerto!’ (Elckerlyc Theatre), ensemble in revue ‘Late Evening Summer Cabaret’ (DeLaMar Theatre) and cover Irene Molloy in ‘Hello, Dolly!’ (MediaLane). Merlijne was part of the ABBA tribute band ‘A Fever’ as a vocalist, with whom she performed at different venues and music festivals such as Paaspop and the Gay Pride in Amsterdam. Next to performing she can be heard on various audiobooks as a voice actress.
Merlijne has a great love for writing - she wrote several modern musical theatre songs, as well as short musical theatre projects, together with writing partner Victor Marinus.
