Denice Vermeulen

Denice is currently a student at the Dutch Academy of Performing Arts, where she is training to become an all-round performer. In the 2026/2027 school year she will enter her exam year and is set to graduate in July 2027.

Before pursuing performing arts, Denice competed in gymnastics for 13 years and even participated in the Children’s Olympic Games. The discipline, physical control, dealing with pressure and love for performing she developed there, still shapes her work on stage today. Her path wasn’t completely straightforward, though. After high school she spent three years in nursing school before deciding to follow her heart and auditioned for a performing arts school.

Alongside her studies, Denice has shared her passion for movement by teaching Zumba classes. When she’s not rehearsing, she enjoys baking, reading, practicing yoga, and of course dancing.

She loves the sparkle of show costumes, but the first thing she does at home is change into oversized sweaters and comfy joggers. Her guilty pleasure? A slice of bread with peanut butter and cheese, simple but very tasty. And her most memorable stage blunder: falling backwards over a table mid-performance. But you know: “fake it till you make it”.
